Introducing: Megan Pugh, Head Trainer of Templeton Equestrian and owner of Turning Point Equestrian

Megan Pugh is a master teacher of the art of Dressage. Her discerning eye, intuitive understanding of the horse and her ability to communicate with both horse and rider produces students who excel and consistently progress.

Megan began seriously riding at age 12 and at 15 she became a working student for Carrie Harnden in California and started teaching beginning lessons. She was able to ride and show Carrie’s retired Grand Prix Champion, Invaluable, further honing her skills in Dressage. For three years she trained with both Carrie Harnden and Sue Curry, working with horses imported for resale from training level to Grand Prix. She gained experience with many different breeds, and while all were not natural dressage movers, she learned how to get the best out of each horse with persistence and patience.

In 2001, she relocated to Boise, Idaho and established Turning Point Equestrian. She gained immediate attention with one of her initial projects, the purchase and training of a weanling, I to Eye, who is now showing Intermediare I and schooling through Grand Prix.

Turning Point Equestrian is not a just a business, but a team. Megan is passionate about the students in her program and knows how to collaborate and read between the lines to create a true partnership between horse and rider. She currently trains students and horses from Pre-Training Level to Grand Prix. She also teaches vaulting and jumping lessons.

In addition to training and coaching, she has taught clinics in Sun Valley and McCall, ID, Woodside, CA and Portland, OR, as well as judging schooling shows.  Megan has had the great opportunity to ride under the direction of Conrad Schumacher, Lilo Fore, Debbie McDonald, Carrie Harnden, Sue Curry, Reta Conner and Alfredo Hernandez. She currently trains with Carrie Harnden, Conrad Schumacher and Alfredo Hernandez.

Templeton Equestrian Center feels fortunate to be in Megan Pugh’s program and to have a trainer of her stature and expertise as their head trainer at their facility. Don’t miss the opportunity to train with one of the best in the Pacific Northwest. Contact 503.632.2433 for Megan’s training schedule or visit www.TempletonEquestrian.com
